Bertha L. Queen Styles


Spruce Pine, N.C. - Bertha Queen Styles, 85, of Maple Road in Spruce Pine, the Altapass Community, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at her residence.

A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late George and Nancy Loven Queen and the wife of the late Charlie Styles who passed away in 2003.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Styles McKinney; sister, Texie Burleson; and brothers, Arthur, Oscar, Dewey, Reid, Coy, James, and Jack Queen.

She is survived by her daughters;,Karen Buchanan of Nebo and Shirley Buchanan of Spruce Pine; sons, Eddie Styles and Gerald Styles, both of Spruce Pine and Leonard Styles of Marion; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Son: Charles "Eddie" Styles

The funeral service will be held 8 p.m. Thursday in the Grindstaff Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The Revs. Donnie Reagan and Bob King will officiate the service. The family will receive friends

Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until the service hour in the funeral home chapel.

The graveside service and interment will be 11 a.m. Friday in the McKinney Gap Cemetery.
