SPRINGDALE - Ruby Jean Gilbert, 76, of Springdale died June 13, 1996, at Northwest Medical Center. She was born July 14, 1919 at Rock House to Ernest and Hattie Houston Haley. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and a retired cook from Springdale School System. She is survived by her husband, Roy Gilbert of the home; three daughters, Wanda Bledsoe of Cheney, Kan., Glenda Threet of Checotah, Okla, Hettie Jean Medlock of Springdale; one-stepson, Murl Gilbert of Shenandoah, Iowa; one step-daughter, Earlene Gilbert of Conway; one brother, Willie Haley of Atwater, Calif; seven sisters, Grace Loftin of Lincoln, Jessie Kelley of Berryville, Helen Main of Cave Springs, Lavonne Martinez of Atwater, Shirley Carpenter of Pulaski, N.Y, Pearl Rodriquez of Mount Holly, N.Y., Ethel Dill of Springfield, MO; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene in Springdale, with the Rev. Gary White and the Rev. James Heckathorn officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
