Lottie Velma King Dunaway passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2008, at the age of 98.

Ms. Dunaway was born March 31, 1910, in Onalaska, Texas, and was a lifelong resident of Highlands, Texas. She and her husband, John, owned and operated Highlands Shell Company for 31 years and were active members of First Baptist Church in Highlands.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Florence Pool King; husband, John Franklin Dunaway, and son, Johnnie Eugene Dunaway; brothers, Willard, Lee and Loren King; and sisters, Edna Edgar, Lurie King, and Margie Gafford.

She is survived by her son, Robert Earl Dunaway; sister, Inez Gentry; grandchildren, Paul and Katia Dunaway, Clifton Dunaway, Wendi Dunaway, Stacey and Stephen McNair, John Dunaway, DeeAnn and Marcus Thigpen; and eight great-grandchildren.

The service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Crespo & Jirrels, with Pastor Wes Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Dunaway, Clifton Dunaway, John A. Dunaway, Marcus Thigpen, Darwin D. Cupps, and Mavis Dunaway.
