Funeral services for Rev. George W. Boswell, Sr. will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday September 27, 2008 in the East Leesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Gil Arthur officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in LaCamp under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
Rev. Boswell passed away Thursday at his residence in Leesville. Rev. Boswell pastored several churches in Louisiana for over 50 years. He was the current Pastor Emeritus of the New Llano First Baptist Church in New Llano. Music was his passion, he could play just about every instrument he touched and was a very talented individual. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of WWII.
{He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille DeRossett Boswell.] He is survived by [his second] wife, Joan Boswell of Leesville; sons, George Washington Boswell Jr. and wife Sharon of Fisher, Randy W. (Bozo) Boswell Sr. and wife Reitha of Leesville; daughters, Shirley Straight and husband Tim of Leesville, Carolyn Lucille Miller and husband Richard M. Sr of Leesville, Jeri Chadwick and husband Steve of DeRidder; grandchildren Patti Stell, Helen Lucille Roberts, Billie Jo Sosa, Rachal M. Boswell, George R. Boswell, Richard M. Miller Jr., Gidget Sipper, David Anthony, Randy W. Boswell Jr., and Chadwick Raymond Boswell; eleven great grandchildren
