OSMUND CHARLES GEIER, JR., age 79, of Richmond, VA, originally of Philadelphia PA, died June 19, 2007; beloved husband of Margaret M. Small for 51 years, and the fun-loving and dearly missed father of seven children and their spouses: Mary Ann, Catherine, Christopher, Margaret & Michael A. Harris, Michael Geier & Shannon Newton, Osmund Charles III & Merrill Geier, and Patricia & Scott A. Fields; and 3 grandchildren: Alexandra, Elizabeth and Moira. Oz was the devoted son of the late Osmund Charles Geier Sr. and the late Catherine Shannon of Philadelphia and Darby PA. A veteran salesman and manufacturer's representative until retirement, Oz made many friends among his associates & customers in municipal police and recreation equipment sales throughout the mid-Atlantic USA. He was proud of being an American, having worked as a teenager on the construction of the USS Wisconsin at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. In the 1950s he served his country in the US Army, and in later life Oz was a tireless election worker at his Henrico County (Virginia) polling place. As "Dad", "Uncle Oz", and "Mr. Geier", he will be remembered for remaining enthusiastic & youthful in spirit and outlook, for his steadfast devotion to and pride in his family, for his love of jazz & all music, art, holiday parties, Wildwood vacations, home landscaping projects, and the joy with which he shared these with everyone.
