Mars Hill - Alda Wilson Bailey, 81, of 4277 Puncheon Fork Rd., died June 17, 2008, at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Bailey was a lifelong resident of Madison County, a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and the daughter of the late Jess and Hassie Hall Wilson. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Riley Bailey; son, Merrill Bailey; and two sisters, Alma VanSciver and Ruby English.
She is survived by daughters, Janice English, Donna English and husband, Harvey; son, Robert Bailey and wife, Linda, all of Mars Hill; sister, Robbie Davis; brother, Robert Wilson; grandchildren, Stacey Bailey and wife, Theresa, Brian Bailey and wife, Betty, Joey, Nicholas and Ashley English, Christine English and fiance, Ron Carpenter, Jessica Bava and husband, David; greatgrandchildren, William Bailey and John English; and a special friend, Helen Mays.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue ridge Funeral Service. The Revs. Harold Lewis and J.D. Deyton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Upper English Cemetery.
