He was born in Carroll County, September 7, 1912, to Samuel Floyd and Permelia Edwards Winesett.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Berna S. Winesett, three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Rakes, Aberdeen, MD, Mrs, Jane Jones, Poplar Camp, Mrs. Marcia Wilmoth, Street, MD; four sons, Gerald Winesett, Whiteford, MD, Neal, Boyd, and Eldon, all of Woodlawn, VA, two sisters, Lena Padgett, Woodlawn, and Mrs. Annie Lineberry, Galax; three brothers, Jason Winesett, Ausinville, Steve Winesett, Mt. Airy, NC, and Bonnie Winesett, Woodlawn; nine grandchildren, and four great grand children.
The funeral was conducted Monday March 5, at 1 pm in Woodlawn Church of God, with the Rev. John C. Briggs, the Rev. Wayne Briggs, and the Rev. John Gouge officiating.
Burial was in the Pickett Cemetery.

Edd was a miner all his life. He also had a farm and farmed cattle in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia. Amazingly, he was also a barber and maintained a barber shop in his home. He was a deacon and devoted member of the Woodlawn (Monorat) Church of God. Edd had a great sense of humor. Every Sunday afternoon called for a nap. Each night he read his bible. One of the fondest memories the family has of Edd was of him witnessing with the bible in hand. He had a love of the outdoors, the land, the mountains, and valued his enviornment.
