Mrs. Bessie Simmons
Mrs. Bessie Simmons, 83, of Hazel Green died today at Huntsville Hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Beirne Avenue Holiness Church with the Rev. David Jones and the Rev. Jack Denson officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Simmons was a member of the Beirne Avenue Holiness Church.
Survivors include her husband, Buddy Simmons; three sons, James Simmons and Buddy Simmons Jr., both of Hazel Green, and Paul Simmons of Brownsboro; five daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Drake of Owens Cross Roads, Mrs. Maudie Odell of Davenport, Ia., Mrs. Ora Bell Gray of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Mrs. Bernice Medlen and Mrs. Marie Vickers, both of Huntsville; two brothers, Willie Madewell of Grant and Claudis Madewell of Decatur; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The body will be at 356 Ready Section Road in Hazel Green.
