Husband of Beneeta Burris-Furr, they were married in/about 1826 in Stanly County, North Carolina.

Son of John Dolan Furr and Abigail Stallings-Furr

John was also known by Esquire John and was one of the men responsible for having Stanly County separated from Montgomery County in 1841. He was the first representative to the State Legislature from Stanly County.

The Stanly County public library has a beautiful old picture of Esquire John FURR hanging on their wall in the history room. It is about 16X20 inches in a gold frame.
