Thelma Wilson James, 91, of Statesville, NC, formerly of Wanatah, IN, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2004 in Statesville.
She was born April 8, 1912 in Cass County, IN to Charles and Bertha (Logan) Wilson.
On November 22, 1945 she married Richard Charles James who preceded her in death in 1972.
Mrs. James was a homemaker and also retired from General Telephone where she was a hometown exchange operator.
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ and is survived by one daughter, Betty Ann (Jack) Hittle of Statesville, one grandson, Mark Richard (Amy) Hittle of Hiddenite, NC; one granddaughter, Rebecca Erin Hittle of North Wilkesboro, NC; three great-grandchildren, Mikayla AnnMarie, Maguire AdamRichard and Jacob Kendall Hittle and one sister, Frances Hiatt of Walton, IN.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 11:00 A.M. at Salem United Church of Christ, Wanatah, the Rev. Craig Forwalter officiating with burial at Salem Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Wanatah Funeral Chapel, 309 N. Main St., Wanatah, IN.
