Funeral services for Harley Ulysses Brummett, 99, of Vincennes, IN, formerly
of Union County, TN, and Cumberland County, who passed away Aug. 4, 1999,
were held Aug. 7 at Mt. Union Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in
Campground Cemetery, in Clarkrange, TN.
He was born Dec. 16, 1899 in Union County, the son of William Andy Brummett
and Martha Jane Berry Brummett. Mr. Brummett was a farmer and he was a
member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Muncie, IN.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Manuel and Diane Brummett
of Vincennes, IN, and Andy and Reva Brummett, James and Dorothy Brummett,
and Paul and Margie Brummett, all of Muncie, IN; daughters and sons-in-law,
Ruth and Lonnie Mullins of Muncie, Mary and Walter Boles of Clarkrange, TN,
Edna and Dale McQueary of Dayton, OH, and Virgie Argabrite of Vincennes; 19
grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Reva Bell Patton Brummett;
second wife, Stella Lay Brummett; three sons; one daughter; and several
brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers were Michael Boles, Donathan Brummett, Eddie Argabrite, Lynn
Bently, Timothy Brummett, Tony Brummett, David McQueary and William Thomas.
The Revs. Hoyt Davis and Ronnie Smith officiated.
