Jerald Dwight Hutson, the son of Dwight and Mae Hutson, was born on September 14, 1932 in Marshalltown. As a child he moved with his family to Cambridge, graduated high school there and later attended Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
On February 8, 1958 he was united in marriage to Patricia Kane in Ames. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge and he was co-owner of Fort Dodge Roofing. For twenty years they made their home in Arizona where he managed a roofing company. In 2003 they moved back to Fort Dodge and own and operate Hut-Co Industries.
Jerald was an avid Hawkeye sports fan, loved golfing, fishing and being outdoors.
Survivors include his wife Patty; his sons Michael Hutson of Fort Dodge, and Christopher (Heidi) Hutson of Culver City, CA; his grandchildren Samantha, Jake and Ryley; his sisters Janice (Dave) Wierson and Jane Nerness; his sister-in-law Peg (John) Wille; his brothers-in-law Bill (Georgia) Kane and Leon Meineke and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Joan Meineke, his brother Jack Hutson and granddaughter Breianna.
