MEXIA (SPL)--Lloyd Monroe (Bill) Parten 68, died Sunday at his residence in Brazoria.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Corley-Porter Funeral Chapel in Mexia. Burial will be in Prairie Hill Cemetery, Rev. Fred Sain officiating.
Mr. Parten was former police chief of Mexia and city marshal of Hubbard. He was serving his eighteenth year as deputy sheriff of Brazoria County at the time of his death. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include hie sife; two daughters, Mrs. Janelle Travis of Angleton, and Mrs. Linda Rudasill of Belton; two sons, Joe Lloyd Parten of Mexia and James Parten of Belton; a brother, Jim Parten of Waco; and three sisters, Mrs. Audrey Snowden of Waco and Mrs. Evelyn Stafford and Mrs. Velva McCullough of Prairie Hill.
