John "Addison" Jones, 79 of Austinville, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2008. He was born in Carroll County on Dec. 9, 1928 to the late John Henry and Sarah Frances Frazier Jones. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Alma Jean Jones and Inis Jones Cox; and a brother, David Sanders Jones. He is survived by his wife, Alene Shupe Jones of Austinville; children and spouses, Addison Lee and Joyce Jones of Austinville; Diane Jones and Dean Sutphin of Blacksburg; sisters, Ann Jones Huff of Dugspur and Moyies Jones West of Torrance, CA; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 18, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Reese Funeral Home Chapel with Steven Canup, Morris Witten and Tom Gilliam officiating. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Bethany Cemetery. Reese Funeral Home of Austinville was in charge of arrangements.
