Marcella Einhorn Hamre, 93, a longtime resident of Butner, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at UniHealth PAC - Carolina Point in Durham, N.C.
A native of Winona, Minn., the daughter of the late Arnold and Ella Emphke Einhorn, she was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Butner, and retired from the Postal Service.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Butner by Sister Carol Loughney. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
Surviving is a daughter, Barbara H. Leonard of Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, Alan L. (Sylvia) Hamre of Creedmoor; three grandsons, James Leonard of Maryland, Greg Leonard of Raleigh, and Scott Hamre of Creedmoor; two great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor, and other times at 1124 Ivey Circle, Creedmoor, N.C. The omission of flowers is requested and memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor is assisting the Hamre family.
