Fisher, ages 50 and 48, with Joseph, age 10; "Sinie," 7; & Lattice, 5. --- Nathaniel Fisher served during the Civil War, but his burial location is unconfirmed.


Sarah J. Fisher is recorded as age 55, with her son, Joseph Fisher, 24, both born in Indiana in the 1895 Palmyra Township, Douglas County, Kansas state census. They are recorded next to O. P. M. Barger, 28, and Senia (nee Fisher) Barger, 22, both born in Indiana. Four young Barger children are also recorded, all born in Kansas. The children are recorded as O. L., a girl, age 7; Bessie, 5; W., E., a boy, 3; & Myrtle, 5 months.

Fisher is recorded as a widow, age 60, in the 1900 Palmyra Township, Douglas County, Kansas census with 6 grandchildren who are recorded with the surname Barger, all born in Kansas. Elizabeth is recorded as age 12; Bessie, 10; William, 8; Myrtle, 5; Pearl C., 3; & Ishmal, 1.  --- The 1910 census records Sarah in the same location with Myrtle & Pearl Barger, her granddaughters. Sarah J. Fisher, age 75, resided alone in the town of Baldwin City in the 1915 state census.

Ancestry family information records the death of Senia (nee Fisher) Barger in 1899 in Douglas County, Kansas. Most likely, Senia is buried in Prairie City Cemetery.

"1988 survey notes: Prairie City and Mt. Cavalry cemeteries are adjacent with a gateway between the two tracts. Prairie City was established in 1855 and was designated as the settlement grew. Early records of Prairie City Cemetery were destroyed by fire in the 1930's."


Minerva Fisher first married David Gadberry. Her 2nd husband was Michael Rogers, # 3678974 -- Minerva may have died before 1905 and also be buried here, as her son and her married daughter (Emma - nee Gadberry - Lang & Jesse Rogers) are recorded in the same household in the 1905 Kansas state census in Crawford County.
