VALDOSTA - Cleo Maine Zeigler, 98, a longtime Valdosta resident and recently of Homerville, died on Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Clinch County Memorial Hospital. Born in Naylor on Oct. 13, 1906, she was the daughter of the late James Solomon and Carrie Viola Carter Maine. Mrs. Zeigler was a homemaker and member of Unity Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors are her grandchildren, Robert Huey Zeigler Jr. of Griffin, Tina Marie Zeigler Arnold of Griffin, Louise Zeigler and Lynn Zeigler of Avondale Estates; one brother and three sisters-in-law, J.S. and Laura Maine, Dollie Maine of Homerville and Virginia Maine of Atlanta; daughters-in-law, Betty B. Zeigler of Avondale, Rose Zeigler of Griffin. Mrs. Zeigler was preceded in death by her husband, Quillian, two sons, J. Q. Zeigler Jr. and Bobby Zeigler, and brothers Kenneth Maine and Robert Maine. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2005, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Elder Thad Marshall and Elder Jim Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Wayfare Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on from 6-8 p.m. this evening.
