Giuseppe Abate, age 100 of Pikeville, TN, formerly of Gore, VA and Trenton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2023. Born in Moliterno, Italy, he immigrated to the US in 1965, residing in Morrisville, PA, then Trenton, NJ for many years. He then lived in Gore, VA for 15 years before moving to Pikeville 1 year ago.

Mr. Abate served in the Italian Army prior to moving to the US. He was a construction worker for many years in Italy. After entering the United States, he worked with Circle F. on Monmouth St. in Trenton for 25 years. His interests included gardening and home wine making.

Husband of the late Rosa (Messina) Abate, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law Frank and Linda Abate of Pleasant Mount, PA and Joseph Abate of Hamilton, NJ, three daughters and a son-in-law Carmela Innocenci of Gore, VA, Filomena and Bill White, Jr. of Pikeville, TN and Maria Abate of Hamilton, NJ, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Relativs and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. His interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Trenton.

Friends may call Tuesday from 10-11 AM at the funeral chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Abate's name may be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org/donate).
