A native of White Plains, N.Y., he lived in Palatka for 38 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was formerly a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had worked as a self-employed carpenter, and was a member of Bostwick Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Cole of Palatka; two sons, George Cole and James Cole, both of Palatka; a daughter, Pat Cooper of Bay Minette, Ala.; two brothers, Lewis Cole of Beverly Beach, Fla. and Harold Cole of Leesburg; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday at Watts Funeral Home in San Mateo with the Rev. Armand Couliette officiating. Burial will be in Bostwick Cemetery. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 11 Jun 1993)
