Historic Middletown, Inc. has placed a sign at this grave:
Benjamin Bridges, Sr. purchased the 400 acre patent from Mordecai Lincoln, the 16th president's uncle, on January 12th, 1797 for $400. Bridges, a member of the church, permitted the Long Run Baptist Church to use this acre-plus site. On July 4, 1954, he deeded it to the church's trustees.
