Edgar Folsom Sr., 81, of Mayo, FL, passed away at his home on August 2, 2021 following an extended illness. Edgar was born November 25, 1939 in Mayo to Wilfred E. Folsom and Dorothy Margaret Folsom. He was a graduate of Lafayette County High School where he played football and ran track. Following High School, Edgar went to work with Anderson-Columbia doing road construction and worked with them for a number of years before founding and operating Folsom Farms and Dairy. He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, growing gardens, and most importantly, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Wilfred and Dorothy Folsom; and 3 brothers, W.E, Folsom Jr., Joe Folsom, and Ezra Folsom.


He is survived by: his wife of 58 years; a son and his wife of Tallahassee, FL; daughter and her husband of Mayo; 4 grandchildren and a granddaughter in law; 3 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.


The family will be welcoming friends at their home from 4-7PM on Wednesday August 4, 2021to share memories and comfort. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.
