Jeffrey Lee Ackerman, 68, of Columbia, died Saturday, January 27, 2024. He was born on August 9, 1955 to Ronald and Marilyn Ackerman in Anderson, IN. Jeffrey will be forever remembered as a man of love and compassion for his family. His role as a grandfather brought him immeasurable happiness and his love for his grandchildren knew no bounds. His absence will leave a void, but his spirit will live on forever.

 

Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Linda Ackerman; sons, Jason (Lekena) Ackerman and Justin (Megan) Ackerman; seven grandsons; and siblings, Greg (Shellie) Ackerman, Tony (Coconut) Ackerman, and Karen Carpenter.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, C. Jack Carpenter; and sister, Kathy Carpenter.

 

His family will hold a private memorial gathering at a later date. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel is assisting the family.
