Wife of Maxie Carter

Mrs. Effie Hester Starling Carter age 93 died Fri. Dec. 12 following a brief illness. A native of Clay Hill she spent most of her life in the Kingsley Lake area prior to moving to Lake Butler 3 and a half years ago.

She was a 50 year member of First Baptist Church in Starke and was a homemaker, in 2000 she was chosen as a Women of Distinction for Alachua/Bradford Counties by the Sante Fe Community College.

She is survived by her son Maxie Carter, Jr. of Starke; granddaughters, Martel Hunt and Marion Pratt of Jacksonville, and Jeannie Faulk Larkin of Lake Butler. Grandsons, Brad Carter of Raiford, Keith Carter of Tampa and Carlton Faulk of Lake Butler. Sixteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel in Starke on Wed. Dec. 17 at 1pm with burial in Long Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tue. from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Jones Funeral Home, 514 E. Nona St., Starke, FL.
