When her first husband died on 19 March 1794 in Lisbon due to consumption, Anne's brother Henry came to Lisbon to bring her back to England. However, on their journey their ship was captured by a French frigate and the siblings were taken prisoners. In January 1795, Anne was freed.
Lady Anne and her second husband lived in a grace-and-favour residence at Apartment 8, Hampton Court Palace, where she died on 16 Dec 1844 aged 76.
Buried 23 Dec 1844.
