Ervin was the son of John Kirk. He married Clara Jean Russell in 1950 and they had four children: Gerald Thomas, Patricia Jean, Stephen Joe and Lori Elizabeth.

ABERDEEN - Ervin Zadoc ''Puddin'' Kirk, 80, of Aberdeen died Sunday in his home.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Taylor Memorial Baptist Church by the Revs. Richard Hodges and David Boroughs. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Kirk is survived by his wife, Jean R. Kirk; two sons, Stephen Kirk of Aberdeen and Gerald Kirk of Albemarle; two daughters, Lori Kirk of the home and Patricia K. Hudson of Aberdeen; two brothers, Barney Kirk of Southern Pines and Darrell Kirk of Greensboro; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Powell Funeral Home.
