Annie Ruth Russell
Ms. Russell, 95, of 6305 Wilora Lake Lodge, died September 25, 2004 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. She was born July 16, 1909 in Stanly County, the daughter of Nannie Moose Russell and Marshall Parker Russell.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church Albemarle. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hartsell Funeral Home. Rev. Justin Hill will officiate. A graveside service will be held in Taylor Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, Jackson Springs, NC, 3 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2004.
She was a former Sunday School teacher, Secretary of Primary Department Secretary of Training Union, Charter Member of Senior Adults, Circle Chairperson. She worked at Wiscassett Mills. She was faithful to all church activities.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Albemarle since 1931.
She came to Albemarle as a caregiver to her father's sister and remained to provide care for various members of the Moose family including her grandparents, two aunts and two uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sisters, Lela Russell, Nora Russell Lowder, Josie May Russell Thomas and by her brothers, Hubert Russell, William A. Russell and the Rev. Ernest P. Russell.
Survivors include sister, Elma Russell Helms of Harrisburg, NC; brother, Herman N. Russell and wife, Polly of Aberdeen, NC; sister-in-law, Dorothy Russell of Albemarle; nieces and nephews.
Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle is in charge.
