Jesse H. Carter, 82, died Saturday night at the home of his son B. H. Carter, 3015 Lackawanna Avenue. He was born in Valdosta, GA., but had been a resident of Florida for many years having come here from Clay County 14 years ago. He was a member of the Long Branch Baptist Church and besides his son he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Celia Carter, a grand-daughter, Mrs. Etta Canover of Jacksonville, and a grandson, Mr. Edward Carter of Green Cove Springs. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. today from the chapel of Hardage & Williams Funeral home, 517 Park Street, Rev. W. M. H. Taylor officiated. Interment was in Long Branch Cemetery.
