Colonel William Weldon Brannon, Jr., 92, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Johnson City Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

William was born into the loving home of William Weldon Brannon, Sr. and Sara Mae Slade Brannon in Rome, Georgia in 1931, but would grow up in Cordele, Georgia.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired after 31 years of honorable service.

William will be dearly remembered by: his wife of 67 years, Bertie; his daughter, Debbie (Christopher); his son, William (Julia); his sister, Lilly (Hal); a cousin, Penny (David); nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends is scheduled from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Johnson City.

The funeral mass will begin promptly at 11:00 AM following the visitation service at Saint Mary's Catholic Church.

Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
