Catherine Page Edwards of Dunnellon, FL, a former long time Stamford resident died Friday February 28 at Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala, FL - she was 87.

She died of natural causes according to her family.

Born January 31, 1916 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Frederick and Katherine Whitehead Underwood.

Mrs. Edwards was a homemaker. She was a part-time dental assistant with the Visiting Nurse Association of Southwestern Connecticut.

She volunteered at a thrift shop in Stamford and at Stamford Hospital for many years. She was honored by the state Legislature for outstanding community service about 25 years ago. She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church of Stamford.

She moved from Stamford to Dunnellon, FL 17 years ago, she was a member of Dunnellon Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Presbyterian Women's Association.

She is survived by her husband of Dunnellon; a son of Monroe, NY; a daughter of Ocala; a grandson and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, Frederick Underwood, and a half-sister, Valerie Hart.
