Ruth Mary Parks, age 80, of West Manchester, OH passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, OH. She was born April 13, 1943 in Richmond, IN to the late Fritz and Edna Mae Hans. She was a longtime member of the Wares Chapel United Methodist Church in West Manchester; was a volunteer at the Monroe Township Food Bank; enjoyed reading and cooking; and loved vacationing in Michigan with her husband Ray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ray E. Parks, who passed away in 2001; an infant daughter; sisters Amy Call and Martha Tapalman; brother Paul Hans; and infant brother Karl Hans. She is survived by her daughter Regina (Harold) James of Lewisburg; son Richard (Amie) Parks of Lewisburg; grandchildren: Kyle (Julie) James, Trent (Amy) James, Jessica Parks and Sara Parks; great grandchildren: Ruthie James, Payton Oda and Payge Oda; sister Lois (Bill) McDowell; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:30 am at Wares Chapel United Methodist Church, 1060 Foos Road, West Manchester, OH with Pastor Kenneth Stewart officianting. Burial will follow at Wares Chapel Cemetery in West Manchester. Gard Funeral Home, Eaton are assisting with arrangements.
