Dorothy Mae "Dottie" Blazich died on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. She was seventy-nine years of age. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Edith Lake. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. Blazich was a retired musician. She was the founding member of the group "Dottie's People." Dottie was a self-taught bass player. Her husband, John, played the drums for the group. They played at many venues in the Philadelphia and South Jersey area. Dottie was also an excellent tap dancer and enjoyed dancing with both her daughter, granddaughter and grandson.
Her other interests included cooking and finance. She enjoyed meeting a group of friends at the Neshaminy Mall. Dottie was a loving and kind hearted person.
Dottie was the beloved wife of John J. Blazich for forty-nine years. She was the devoted mother of Paula Malaby (Gary). She was the loving grandmother of Kristy Jovovich, Holly Sockwell and Gary Sockwell and the great grandmother of Amelia Siano.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 10:30 to 12 noon at the Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Her funeral service will be at 12 noon. Dorothy's interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
