Steven J. Acierno, 82 of Lehighton, PA passed away on January 6, 2024, at Hackettstown Medical Center in Hackettstown, NJ. Born September 14, 1941 in Union City, NJ, he was the son of the late Vincent Acierno and the late Madaline (Laverty) Acierno. He was the husband of the late Lana (Solt) Acierno.
After graduating high school, Steven attended Fairleigh Dickenson University, where he obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering. He then went on to work for Jersey Central Power and Light as a Mechanical Engineer for over 30 years before retiring. Steve enjoyed making trips to the Mount Airy Casino, golfing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are sons, Steven Acierno and wife Diane of Easton, PA, Mark Acierno and wife Trish of Hopatcong, NJ, and Butch Acierno and wife Kim of Lehighton, PA. grandchildren Alexandra and Gabrielle Acierno, brother, James Acierno and wife Sharon, sister Barbara McNeal, step brother Stephen DiPaolo, and wife Edie of NJ, and multiple nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Memorial Service and internment will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday January 20, 2024, at Towamensing Cemetery located off of Fireline Road Palmerton, PA 18071. Campton Funeral Home, Palmerton, PA, has been entrusted with his care and arrangements.
