Barbara Jean Sanders died on December 29, 2023. 

She was born on December 21, 1941 in Pittsburg, Texas to Benjamin and Rene Bell. She met and married Harold Sanders while they were attending Southern Oregon State College. They were married 58 years. 

Barbara was an accomplished teacher for more than 25 years. She spent the majority of her career teaching Special Education at Santa Clara Elementary . After retiring, Barbara enjoyed reading, watching old movies, and traveling.

She is survived by her sister Virginia and husband John, daughter Deanna and husband Joe, son David and wife Rachel, and 4 grandsons: Jonah, Aaron, Benjamin, and Peter.

A memorial is scheduled for April 20th at 2pm at Gilham Community Church.
