Born December 22, 1904, in Dallastown, she was a daughter of the late Daniel K. and Lovina (Hildebrand) Taylor.
Mrs. Shenk graduated from Dallastown High School in 1922. She attended Millersville State Normal School and received her state teaching certificate from Shippensburg State Normal School. An elementary teacher, she began her 40 years of teaching at Glades School in Springettsbury Twp. for one year, and the next 39 years she taught in Dallastown.
She was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church where she wrote and directed the Christmas Pageant, performed on Christmas Eve, for 15 years and was director of the Girls Choir for 10 years. She was currently a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and a former member of the choir. Trudy was a life member of the County, State, and National Retired Teachers Association and the Penna. Congress of Parent and Teachers Association. She was Chairperson of the Ladies Division for the Dallastown Centennial celebrated in 1966.
Mrs. Shenk is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Archibald and Melvin Taylor, and a sister, Beatrice Grove.
Burial in Round Hill Cemetery, Crossroads, will be private and at the convenience of the family.
