Philip Gardner Howe, Jr., 87, passed away peacefully in the presence of family on October 26, 2023. He was born on September 6, 1936, in Jacksonville, Florida to Philip Gardner Howe and Katherine Blackburn Howe. He and his family moved to the beaches in 1969.

Phil graduated from Georgia Tech in 1958 with a degree in Industrial Management and worked in the industrial and commercial construction industry in the Jacksonville area for 40 years. He served his industry and community in numerous capacities, including Associated General Contractors of America, City of Jacksonville's Building Codes Adjustment Board, Ponte Vedra Association, Navy League and Rotary Club.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Julianna Howe, who passed away in August 2019. He was also preceded in death by his infant daughter Tara Ryan Howe and his two sisters Virginia Whitner and Katherine Lovett. Phil is survived by his children Gardner (Erin), Anna, and Warren (Toni) and grandson Mac.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Oaklawn Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Ponte Verda Surf Club from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
