Rites Held for W R Davis
Funeral services for W R Davis, 88, were conducted from Shiloh Baptist Church Wednesday, Dec. 13, by the Rev. J W Kitchens.
Mr. Davis died Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clarence Cole in Toccopola, after several days illness.
He was a retired farmer, was born in Union county but had spent the greater part of his life in Pontotoc and Chickasaw county, having served as Justice of Peace for several years. He was a Baptist.
He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Montie Edwards, Meridian and Mrs. Florence Cole, Toccopola; two sons, Clarence Davis of Memphis and Joe Davis, Houlka; also one brother, Harrison Davis of Pontotoc.
Interment was in Halsell's cemetery with Browning Funeral Home of Pontotoc in charge of arrangements.
