Hulda Wilhelmina Gertrude Rosenberg was born March 14, 1907 to Herman and Bertha (Simon) Rosenberg in Manyaska Township, Martin County, Minnesota. She attended school in rural District #51 in Rolling Green Township, and a Dressmaking Course in Fairmont. Hulda worked as a hired girl, and designed and sewed clothing. On April 20, 1932, she was united in marriage to Theodore Ask at St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Welcome, Minnesota. They farmed in Fraser and Manyaska Townships, moving to Sherburn in 1963. Hulda was employed at Giesers Cafรฉ in Sherburn. Ted died on December 1, 1984. Hulda continued living in Sherburn until 2003 when she moved into Temperance Lake Ridge. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Welcome. She taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. Hulda was an active member of the Sherburn Travel Class, Jay Garden Club, and the Senior Citizens Bridge Club. She also enjoyed belonging to the former Daisy Club in Fraser Township and the Friendly Circle Extension Group when they were in existence. She also was a member and an officer in Church Women United in Martin County. Hulda enjoyed gardening and flowers, sewing, crocheting, playing cards, especially Bridge, cooking and baking. She decorated cakes, including many wedding cakes. She loved life and people.

Hulda passed away on Saturday afternoon, April 12, , 2008, at the Fairmont Medical Center in Fairmont, Minnesota, at the age of 101.

Survivors include her daughters, Joan Engstrom and her husband, Jerry, of St. James, Minnesota, Judith Mansager and her husband, Bernie, of Glencoe, Minnesota; sons, Alan Ask and his wife, Juanita, of rural Dunnell, Minnesota and John Ask and his wife, Bonnie, of Oakdale, Minnesota; ten grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; sister, Esther Craig of Welcome, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Neva Rosenberg of Welcome, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Hulda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ted Ask; grandson, Thomas Mansager; three brothers , Frank Rosenberg and his wife, Viola, Alwin Rosenberg and his wife, Mildred, Dewey Rosenberg and wife, Norma; sister, Elma Grussing and her husband, Henry; ther relatives.
