Sonny B. Abbott, 82, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, with his loved ones by his side.

The son of William Asa "Acey" Abbott and Martha Malone Adkins Abbott, of blessed memory, he was born on November 10, 1941, in Blountstown, Florida. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Ruth Joanna Alford Abbott a son, Jason Abbott; and siblings, Joseph "Bill" Abbott, William Abbott, Carrie Elizabeth Tucker, Lucy Mae Abbott, and Sarah Frances Taylor.

Survivors include his 3 daughters, Krista Abbott, Amy Abbott-Darras (husband, Hussein) and Jeri Lynn Kleinert (husband, John); 6 grandchildren, Nora Darras, Raniya Darras-Musleh (husband Waleed), Summer Darras, Muhammad Darras, Radwan Darras and Nick Kleinert. He is also survived by one sibling, Ida Silva; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended friends and family.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator and woodsman for most of his life and retired from Shuler Brothers, Inc. He was a sportsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting, watching television, especially football and wrestling. Sonny was a huge Florida State Seminole and Kansas City Chiefs fan. He enjoyed eating meals with family and playing his casino slot games on the computer.

He deeply loved his family, was a man of strong prayer and faith, and prayed daily for his family. Sonny was known as a gentle, humble, and kind man. He touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. He will be dearly missed.

Mr. Abbott's family will receive friends at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Abbey Funeral Home with a celebration of Mr. Abbott's life following at 2:30 pm.
