DOROTHEA SHORT SCHLOESSER Dorothea Schloesser passed away Monday, April 30, 2012. She spent her early life in Massachusetts and during World War II she joined the Waves and was assigned to decode Japanese messages. She married Norman Schloesser, an Air Force bomber pilot, and they later moved to the Kansas City area. She was a member of the Daughters of the King, the Lewis Boone Chapter of the DAR, WAVES National Unit #9, and the International Seascape Artists. She served as a volunteer at the VA Hospital for 11 years. She is survived by her five children, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held May 5th at 1:30 PM in the chapel at Bishop Spencer Place, 4301 Madison Ave., Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers donations to the Disabled American Veterans are suggested.
