The Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN) June 16, 1997 > Annie Mae Alsup, 86, of Memphis, retired payroll clerk at the regional post office, died of kidney failure Saturday at the National Health Care Center in Somerville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tueday at Forest Hill Funeral Home East, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was a former grand representative and president of the Xater Society, former Matron of Mizpah Eastern Star Chapter 219 and former president of Memphis and Shelby County Matrons Association. She leaves a son, James Thompson, and a daughter-in-law who cared for her, Mary Ann Thompson, both of Memphis; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
