Hendersonville - Gay Gibson Carter, 90, of 602 Brookside Camp Road, Hendersonville, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003.
He was a native of Madison County and lived several years in Marietta, S.C.
He was a self-employed concrete mason and a son of the late Gaither and Ida Robinson Carter. He was the husband of the late Thelma Higgins Carter.
He is survived by two daughters, Margaret Heissenberg of Asheville and Betty Dotson of Hendersonville; son, Roy Carter of Candler; sister, Grace Cooper of Greenville, S.C.; five grandchildren, Neal and Michael Carter, Cindy Overfield, Lynn Black and Kelli Waters; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service in Mars Hill. The Rev. Frances Radford will officiate. Burial will be in California Creek Baptist Cemetery.
