Caroline Wilson Mackay, 78, of Bowling Green, FL passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Caroline was born on April 23, 1945, in Oakland, CA to George Rees Wilson and Elizabeth York Wilson. Caroline was a Home Economics Teacher at Hardee Junior High for many years and left a lasting impact on many of Hardee County's youth.

Caroline was a devout follower of God and a member of the First Baptist Church of Wauchula. Her faith in God and belief in the good in people allowed her to touch and be a part of many people's lives.

Caroline is preceded in death by both of her parents and sisters Nancy Wilson Cole-Dewhurst, and Elizabeth "Buffy" Lewis. She is survived by her loving husband Joseph Mackay; sons Will Mackay (Tia) and Michael (Tee); grandchildren Eli Mackay, Phoebe Mackay, Annabelle Mackay, and Travis Mackay; nieces Elizabeth Cross, Shannon Wagner, Averill Cole; nephews Andrew Lewis and Stephen Lewis; along with Jan Knight and many other dear friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to either Good Shepherd Hospice-Contact Mark Gilliard or Send Me Missions-Contact Jamie Samuels.

A Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Wauchula, FL on Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 PM followed by Funeral Services at 2:00 PM. Pastor Casey Cockerham will be officiating. The interment will take place at Avon Park Cemetery.
