FLORENCE -- Clarence Lavell Horne, 69, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001, at his residence after an illness.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
He was born in Darlington County, a son of the late Wilbur Jesse and Ollie Viola Blackmon Horne. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a journeyman/pressman in the newspaper industry for 35 years.
Mr. Horne married Nancy Lee Cox in 1951 and of that marriage were born three children who survive him: William Clarence Horne, Ricky Lavell Horne and Adrian Lorraine Dixon, all of Florence. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
