Paul Leighton Jones, 57, Hern don, died of natural causes at 1:45 p.m. Friday at his home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Lamb Funeral Home, with Earl Grace officiating. Burial will follow in Powell Cemetery, LaFayette, with military rites at graveside.

A native of Christian County, he was born July 25, 1942. He was the son of Geneva Shaw Jones, Herndon, and the late Thomas H. Jones. He was a retired Army veteran, having participated in the Berlin crisis and also attaining the rank of sergeant, and served a tour of duty in the Marine Corps.

In addition, he was an employee of Faultless Hardware and the Minis Marts. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1913 and a Baptist.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a son, John Paul Jones, Dallas; a daughter, Andrea Carter, Rocky Face, Ga.; six brothers, Henry Alton Jones, GayIon Jones and Jimmy Jones, all of Hopkinsville, Robert Jones, Dallas, Billy Jones, New Bedford, Mass., and Bruce Jones, Hopkinsvine; three sisters, Christy Mason, Hopkinsville, Ann Riddle, Springfield, Tenn., and Pamela Collins, Florence, Ala.; and seven grandchildren.
