Wylie Dan "Blackie" Jones, 43, of Atlanta, Ga., and formerly of Christian County, died at 2:45 p.m. Monday at Clayton General Hospital, Atlanta, following a short illness.

Services will be at 2 pm. Wednesday at Maddux Funeral Home, Hopkinsville, with the Rev. Jimmy Collins officiating and burial in Powell Cemetery, LaFayette.

A native of Christian County, he was born July 14, 1944, the son of Geneva Shaw Junes, Pee Dee, and the late Thomas H Jones. A retired Army sergeant 1st class, serving three tours of duty in Viet Nam, he was a member of Little River Baptist Church arid a lifetime member of the Hopkinsville Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Hildegard Grim Jones; three daughters, Danette, Michelle and Holley Jones, all of Princeton; seven brothers, Henry A. Jones, Pee Dee, Paul L. Jones, Cadiz, Robert E. Jones, Dallas, Texas, Billy Jones, New Bedford, Mass., Gaylon B., James D and Bruce J. Jones, all of Hopkinsville, and three sisters, Christy Mason, Hopkinsville, Ann Riddle, Springfield, Tenn., and Pam Collins, Harrodsburg.
