Joan M. Abagnale (nee Steele), 87, died Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she lived in North Arlington until moving to Cedar Grove 42 years ago.
Joan was an avid bowler at Bowl-O-Drome in North Arlington for over 40 years. She was a wonderful cook. She considered everyone family and made sure no one left her home hungry. She and her husband were very active in several classic car clubs. She was loved by all and will be missed.
Joan was the beloved wife of Emil " Sonny " Abagnale; the devoted mother of Donna Immersi and the late Michael Abagnale; the dear mother-in-law of Cindy Abagnale and the late Jerry Immersi; the cherished grandmother of Samantha Van Etten and her husband Daniel, and Gabrielle Immersi-West and her husband Alex, and the late Jerry Immersi Jr.; the adored great-grandmother of Serena Van Etten, and the loving sister of Robert Steele.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Parow Funeral Home 185 Ridge Rd., North Arlington on Monday, July 31st at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30th from 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
