Roy E. Hoover, 82 of Mesa, Arizona, passed to Heaven on July 4th, 2023. He was born June 21, 1941, in Columbus, IN. to Harley and Edell Hoover, and spent his youth there until joining the Army for a tour in Korea. Upon his return home in 1961, he married Gloria Faye Denney. After a few years of delivering mail in bad weather, they moved their family to Mesa in 1967 to attend Arizona State University, and then Pepperdine School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1978. Roy loved his family and spent his last years doting on his descendants. His leaving has left us with grieving hearts, as he will be missed every day. His family and friends are forever blessed with memories of his kindness, love and counsel.

He was predeceased by his Wife of 42 years, Gloria, son Steve, grandson Sean, sister Betty Evans, and brothers James, Carl and Harold.

He is survived by his son John, daughters Laura Hoover and Lisa Livingston, sisters Mary Burton, Ruth Walls, Esther Lawles, Norma Begley, and Pat Whittington of Columbus, Ruby Coddington, Barstow, CA, and Margaret Powers of Mesa, daughters-in-law Mary and Kathy, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation will occur at Meldrum Mortuary (52 N. Macdonald in Mesa) on Saturday, July 15th at 8 am, with a funeral service to follow at 9. A graveside service will be held the same day at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery (1562 E. Baseline Road) in Mesa at 11 am, with military honors.
