Russell E. SCOLES and Cleo Mildred SCOLES nee DAVISON were musicians in and singers in Zanesville, Ohio, the latter part of their lives and they performed on the local radio in a series of radio broadcasts sponsored by the Div. of Public Assistance of Ohio at Wheeling, W.Virginia, over WWVA Radio station, on Saturday afternoons known as the "Balladiers" and they were both blind. Cleo was born blind and Russell became blind in his mid-life. It is believed that Cleo and Russell met at the Ohio State School of the Blind where Cleo was a Teacher of the Blind at the Ohio State School of the Blind.

Cleo was born: 16 Sept. 1903 in Ohio and she died 27 Mar 1982 in Zanesville, Muskingkum County, Ohio, 43701. Cleo resided at one point at 417 "H" Indiana St.; 772 Cliffwood Ave. & at 67 1/2 S. Third Street during a part of their lives in Zanesville, Ohio according to some of my family's records. Cleo is my grandmother Leone BUBECK nee DAVISON's sister (my great aunt) and Leone and Cleo at one point lived in Dayton & Lima, Ohio and briefly in Kiefer, Oklahoma.

Russell E. SCOLES was born 12 Nov 1901 in OH and he died 30 Apr 1982 in Willowhaven nursing home in Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio, 43701. They were married in 1931. Both Cleo and Russell are buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskingum, Ohio.

Best wishes and happy hunting,
