Adolf (Adi) Adler was born on October 27th 1938 in Graz, Austria. He was the son of Vincenz Adler and Maria (Schuster) Adler. On July 23, 2023 he passed peacefully in the comfort of his home at the age of 84.
He studied auto mechanics and moved into the Tool & Die making and welding trade.
He completed his apprenticeship and received his journeyman certificate from Semmering-GrazPauker and retired in 2005. Following, he earned his CDL and drove a school bus for approximately 18 years until May of 2023 for First Student.
He emigrated from Austria to the USA in 1960. On April 27, 1963 he married Helene (Tina) Mueller and they had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.
One of his greatest accomplishments was being the founder of The Adlers Band, an Austrian-American band started in 1979, and it continues to thrive to this day through his son Barry and family.
Adi had a passion for skiing, being a ski instructor from the Alps. He was also an accomplished alpine yodeler and loved playing acoustic and pedal steel guitar.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Gottfried, Erich, Karl, Helmut and sister Annemarie. In addition to his wife Helene, he is survived by his sister, Gertrude (Gerti) Saltuari of GRaz, Austria; son Barry and wife Sylvia' daughter Alexandra Liebster and husband Jack and five grandchildren, Stephania, Carlton, Danny, Katya and Sebastian.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 29 from the William H. Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville. Interment will follow in the Gilbert Cemetery, Gilbert , PA. Repast to follow in the Salem UCC Church Guild Hall. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
