Samuel Tilden Pomeroy, 87, of Rt. 1, Bentonville, died on Tuesday night in the Dellbrook Nursing Home in Riverton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Maddox Funeral Home, with Rev. Carlton Blankenship officiating. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Pomeroy, a farmer, was born in Warren County, the son of John H. Pomeroy and Letha Pomeroy. His wife, Sarah Catherine Pomeroy, preceded him in death.
He is survived by three sons, Jack Pomeroy, Berkley Pomeroy and Leroy Pomeroy, all of Front Royal; four daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Eastham and Mrs. Estelle Gunter, Front Royal; Mrs. Alice Haun, Marshall, Va., and Mrs. Lucy Ramey, Bentonville; 35 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lyle Beaty, Edwin Hickerson, Jimmy Sealock, Aubrey Sealock, Woodrow Pomeroy and Lloyd Pomeroy.
